These are the 3 elemental phases that occur in a non official / non mission / non war close quarters hand-to-hand combatives engagement, primarily for self-defense.

To the untrained / inexperienced, the initial move or lack there of in street level CQC altercations is more often than not the most difficult and yet most necessary part of these engagements.
